Most of the brokerage offices are in Kathmandu Valley and a few of them are in big cities like Pokhara, Dharan, Biratnagar, Birgunj, Butwal, Hetauda, Chitwan, and other major cities of Nepal. Some brokers also provide services online and in rural areas of Nepal.
As the no of investor increasing in Nepal, more brokerage firms are coming in the market. Recently, Secured Securities started its own trading platform, which allows investors to trade online from the platform through the app.

Why is a Broker Needed?
To buy and sell the stock in NEPSE, you need middlemen to execute the trade; such middlemen are known as ‘stockbrokers’. The role of a stock broker is to facilitate the buying and selling of stocks in the stock markets, on behalf of investors. There are 50 registered stock brokerage firms in Nepal through which you can trade in stock exchanges.
Brokers charge certain fees for each stock transaction based on the transaction amount. Broker commission for equity shares ranges from 0.40 to 0.27. The broker commission varies by the trading amount. The higher the trading amount, the lower the broker commission, and the lower the trading amount higher the broker commission. The broker commission percentage is deducted from the trading amount.
