Heavy Rain Likely in Five Provinces as Monsoon Remains Active

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rainfall in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, warning of possible floods, landslides, and other weather-related hazards.

Heavy Rain Likely in Five Provinces as Monsoon Remains Active

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast widespread rainfall across Nepal as monsoon conditions remain active throughout the country. Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, while light to moderate rain is expected in many other areas. Moderate rainfall and snowfall are also possible in some Himalayan regions during the day and night. The department has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall in several areas could trigger flash floods, landslides, debris flows, and soil erosion. It has urged the public to remain cautious, noting that adverse weather may disrupt daily life, agriculture, healthcare services, tourism, mountaineering, and both road and air transportation. Residents have also been advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and advisories.
