Mahakali River Suspension Bridge Collapses, Disrupting Travel Between Dodhara Chandani and Bhimdatta
A suspension bridge over the Mahakali River connecting Dodhara Chandani Municipality and Bhimdatta Municipality in Kanchanpur has collapsed, completely disrupting transportation and pedestrian movement along the route.
The suspension bridge located in Ward No. 4 of Dodhara Chandani Municipality had already been causing travel difficulties after a 5–6 meter section on the Dodhara side rose above its normal position. The situation worsened when one of the bridge pillars also collapsed, causing the bridge structure to break, according to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur. Following the collapse, movement along the route has been completely disrupted, leaving local residents and travelers facing additional difficulties in crossing the Mahakali River.
