The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) edged up by 0.26 points (0.01%) to close at 2,599.15 on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The benchmark index had declined by 4.82 points in the previous trading session. The index opened at 2,597.55 and fluctuated between an intraday high of 2,605.72 and a low of 2,589.12 before settling at 2,599.15. A total of 12,065,555 shares of 353 companies changed hands through 51,745 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs. 4.89 arba. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 44.70 kharba, while the float market capitalization reached Rs. 15.15 kharba. Siddhartha Bank Limited topped the turnover chart with shares worth Rs. 30.53 crore traded during the session. Its stock closed at Rs. 459.90. Sindhu Bikash Bank Limited emerged as the top gainer, rising 10.11% to close at Rs. 489.90. Meanwhile, Sayapatri Hydropower Limited recorded the highest decline, falling 9.66% to close at Rs. 524.00. Among the sectoral indices, the Banking SubIndex recorded the highest gain, advancing 0.39%, while the Trading Index posted the largest decline, falling 1.05%.
