Experts Enlisted to Guide Upcoming FY 2083/84 Budget Formulation
The parliamentary Finance Committee will consult a newly approved panel of eight experts to address systemic gaps and refine the government’s upcoming budget.
The House of Representatives' Finance Committee has resolved to integrate expert consultations into the drafting of the Fiscal Year 2083/84 budget. During its fourth meeting, the committee finalized a list of eight economic experts who will provide recommendations to the government during upcoming budget preparatory sessions. Committee Chair KrishnaHari Budhathoki stated that the move comes after preliminary sectoral reports highlighted several deficiencies in current budgetary processes—a issue that has drawn sharp criticism from lawmakers. To streamline the intervention, the committee has instructed its thematic subcommittees to submit up to ten specific recommendations by the next meeting, ensuring that the final directives issued to the government are thoroughly vetted by both lawmakers and industry specialists.
