Nepal Secures Over Rs. 47 Billion in FDI Commitments in First 11 Months of FY 2082/83
Backed by 914 companies, total foreign investment pledges hit Rs. 47.61 Billion by the end of Jestha, with the agriculture sector leading the share.
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) commitments to Nepal reached a significant milestone of Rs. 47.61 Billion in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year 2082/83. According to the Department of Industry, Rs. 7.71 Billion was approved via the automatic route across 711 companies, while Rs. 39.90 Billion came through the traditional approval route spanning 203 companies. The month of Jestha alone brought in Rs. 2.29 Billion across 186 projects, which included 183 small-scale and 3 medium-scale industries. Cumulatively, these 11-month commitments are projected to generate employment for 25,450 individuals. This brings Nepal's historic aggregate to Rs. 660.43 Billion in approved foreign investments for 5,248 industries.
