Once a Nepali, Always a Nepali': Finance Minister Calls on Diaspora to Invest

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said that the government and the ruling party place high priority on the principle of "Once a Nepali, Always a Nepali," encouraging overseas Nepalis to remain confident in the country's commitment to its global diaspora. Addressing a conference of young Nepali entrepreneurs in Australia virtually on Saturday, Wagle described Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) as goodwill ambassadors for Nepal's development and investment, emphasizing that their support and participation are vital to achieving the nation's long-term prosperity. Reviewing the government's first 100 days in office, Wagle said efforts have been focused on improving public service delivery with integrity and steering the economy in the right direction. He claimed the administration has laid the foundation for some of the most significant governance reforms in the past decade by promoting ethical leadership, merit-based appointments, and a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. The minister reiterated that the government remains committed to strengthening good governance and creating an environment conducive to sustainable economic growth and investment.
