PM Balen Shah Holds High-Level Talks to Revive Nepal's Garment Industry

Prime Minister Balen Shah has initiated high-level discussions with officials of the Nepal Ready-made Garment Association as part of the government's efforts to address challenges facing the country's garment industry. The meeting, scheduled at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, will focus on boosting exports, increasing production, creating employment opportunities, and resolving policy and operational hurdles affecting the sector. Led by Association Chairman Pashupatideva Pandey, the industry delegation is expected to highlight concerns over rising production costs, declining competitiveness, and the need for government incentives and policy clarity. The discussion comes as the Prime Minister continues consultations with private sector stakeholders to identify practical solutions and accelerate reforms aimed at strengthening Nepal's export-oriented industries and supporting economic growth.
