Nepal Launches Online Complaint Portal to Combat Foreign Employment Fraud
The government has introduced an online complaint system allowing victims of foreign employment fraud to file cases digitally, while integrating with Nepal Police to speed up legal action against offenders.
The Government of Nepal has launched an online complaint portal, 'Ujuri DOFE Government Nepal,' to simplify the complaint process for victims of foreign employment fraud and improve access to justice. Unveiled by Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav, the platform enables victims to submit complaints, upload supporting documents, and track the progress of their cases online without visiting the Department of Foreign Employment in person. The system also sends updates through SMS and email after a complaint is registered. To strengthen enforcement, the department has integrated its system with Nepal Police through an API, allowing court-approved arrest warrants against fraud suspects to be automatically updated in the police database. According to the ministry, the digital platform aims to reduce delays, eliminate unnecessary travel costs for victims, prevent accused individuals from obtaining Police Clearance Certificates, and strengthen action against those involved in foreign employment fraud.
