Rs 450 Million Distributed to Farmers in Nawalparasi Purba

The Agriculture Development Office in Nawalparasi Purba has distributed nearly Rs 450 million in subsidies to local farmers over the past five fiscal years (2077/78 BS onwards), supporting agricultural growth and modernization.

A total of 951 farmers have benefited from various government programmes, with grants ranging from Rs 870 to as high as Rs 50 million depending on project scale and category.

Among the major beneficiaries, the Jugepani Tamangtol Farmers' Group received Rs 50 million under a crop insurance scheme. Other support programs have focused on commercial vegetable farming, fruit orchards, irrigation systems, maize seed production, and off-season vegetable cultivation.

The initiatives aim to improve productivity, strengthen food security, and promote year-round farming. The Agriculture Development Office has also prioritized training, relief programs, and corridor-based crop production in the current fiscal year, continuing its efforts to boost rural livelihoods and agricultural commercialization.
