NEPSE Slides 19.34 Points as Turnover Surpasses Rs. 5 Arba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a double-digit decline today, dropping 19.34 points (0.73%) to close at 2,622.48. The benchmark index had declined by 2.01 points in the previous trading session. NEPSE opened at 2,644.42 and moved between an intraday high of 2,646.86 and a low of 2,616.17 before settling at the closing level. Total turnover reached Rs. 5.07 Arba, with 15,196,982 shares traded across 347 companies through 55,246 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 45.11 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 15.21 Kharba. Agricultural Bond (9 Year) (ADBLB87) topped the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs. 50.68 crores, closing at Rs. 1,012.00. Meanwhile, Sarvottam Paints Industries Limited (SAPIL) hit the upper circuit, gaining 15.00% to close at Rs. 524.60. On the losing side, Sagarmatha Jalabidhyut Company Limited (SMJC) recorded the highest decline of 10.63%, with its last traded price standing at Rs. 429.00. Among the sectoral indices, the Trading Index recorded the highest gain, rising 0.41%, while the Manufacturing and Processing Index suffered the highest loss, declining 1.40%.
