Nepal Rastra Bank Doubles Digital Loan Limit to Rs. 10 Lakh!
Nepal Rastra Bank has revised its digital loan guidelines, doubling the borrowing cap from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh to make credit more accessible.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has introduced a more flexible approach toward digital lending by amending the 'Guidelines on Loans Disbursed through Electronic Medium, 2078' on Monday. With this latest revision, the central bank aims to streamline credit access for cottage, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through digital platforms. Under the new circular, borrowers can now secure digital loans up to a maximum of Rs. 10 lakh, effectively doubling the previous ceiling of Rs. 5 lakh. This policy adjustment enables small-scale entrepreneurs to easily acquire financing up to the new limit based on the nature and requirements of their business operations.
