    NEPSE Edges Lower in Volatile Session; Turnover Closes at Rs. 6.44 Billion

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a marginal decline of 1.54 points to close at 2,733.59 amidst high intraday volatility, with market turnover reaching Rs. 6.44 Arba.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index experienced a slight correction on Tuesday, dropping by 1.54 points (0.05%) to settle at 2,733.59, following a more substantial loss of 20.27 points in the previous trading session. The benchmark index kicked off the day at 2,739.71 and fluctuated heavily throughout the session, hitting an intraday peak of 2,741.31 and sliding to a low of 2,701.86 before clawing back most of its losses by the closing bell. A total of 12,382,017 shares changed hands across 357 companies, generating a total daily turnover of Rs. 6.44 Arba via 63,732 transactions. By the end of trading, the overall market capitalization was valued at Rs. 46.69 Kharba, with the float market capitalization standing at Rs. 15.66 Kharba. In terms of individual stock performance, the 8-Year Agricultural Bond (ADBLB86) led the liquidity chart, recording the highest turnover of Rs. 57.00 crores to close flat at Rs. 1,000.00. On the gainers' side, Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited (SOPL) topped the board, surging by 15.00% to close at Rs. 349.70. Conversely, Crest Micro Life Insurance Limited (CREST) faced the steepest decline of the day, plummeting 9.16% to finish at a last traded price of Rs. 1,289.00. Sectoral performance remained mixed; the 'Others' sector index posted the highest gains, advancing by 0.29%, whereas the Finance sector index took the hardest hit, retreating by 1.01%.
