Citizens Bank Opens Sale of 77,578 Units of Founder Shares to General Public
Citizens Bank International Limited (CZBIL) has opened the sale of 77,578.31 units of founder shares to qualified individual and institutional investors after existing promoters declined to purchase them within the initially allocated timeframe.
A founder shareholder of Citizens Bank International Limited (CZBIL) has initiated the process to liquidate 77,578.31 units of founder shares. According to the public notice issued by the commercial bank, prevailing directives from Nepal Rastra Bank mandate that existing founder shareholders must be given the first right of refusal before promoting shares can be offered to outside investors. In compliance with this regulatory framework, the bank had previously notified its existing founders regarding the availability of these shares. However, no applications were received from the internal promotion group within the stipulated deadline. Consequently, the bank has now opened the application window to the general public, qualified individuals, and corporate institutions. Prospective buyers interested in acquiring these founder shares must submit their applications to the Bank's Central Office, located at Narayanhiti Path, Kathmandu, within 35 days from the date of publication of the notice. Citizens Bank stated that once applications are gathered, the final transfer of shares will be executed in accordance with prevailing corporate laws and regulatory requirements. This sale presents a unique opportunity for new, qualified investors to enter the bank's core founder structure.
