    NEPSE Drops Below 2,600 After 19.13-Point Fall, Hits One-Year Low

    NEPSE extended its losing streak for a second session, falling 19.13 points to 2,599.58 and slipping below the 2,600 level for the first time in about a year.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its downward trend on Tuesday, declining by 19.13 points (0.73%) to close at 2,599.58, following a 10.67-point drop in the previous session. The benchmark index opened at 2,618.62 and fluctuated between an intraday high of 2,620.13 and a low of 2,593.31 before settling at the close. With today’s decline, NEPSE fell below the 2,600-point mark for the first time in around a year, returning to levels last seen on July 16, 2025. Total turnover stood at Rs. 3.23 Arba, with 8,572,970 shares traded across 350 companies through 53,153 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 44.71 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 15.08 Kharba. Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML) led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs. 12.72 crore, closing at Rs. 2,728. Meanwhile, Sarvottam Paints Industries Limited (SAPIL) hit the upper circuit, gaining 14.99% to close at Rs. 917.20. On the downside, Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Ltd. (PMHPL) recorded the steepest decline, falling 9.83% to Rs. 311.90. Sector-wise, the Hydropower Index posted the largest decline of 1.19%, while the Hotels and Tourism Index recorded the smallest loss, slipping 0.01%.
