Nepal Oil Corporation Raises Fuel Prices, LPG Rate Unchanged
Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and aviation fuel effective Tuesday, while keeping the price of LPG unchanged despite higher import costs.
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products, effective from Tuesday morning. Under the revised rates, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 3 per litre, while diesel and kerosene have gone up by Rs 5 per litre. Following the adjustment, petrol will retail between Rs 197.50 and Rs 200 per litre, while diesel and kerosene will also be priced between Rs 197.50 and Rs 200 per litre, depending on the region. The corporation has also raised the price of domestic aviation fuel by Rs 20 per litre to Rs 249 per litre, while the price of international aviation fuel for Kathmandu has increased by USD 131 per kilolitre. Aviation fuel prices for Pokhara and Bhairahawa remain at the break-even point. Meanwhile, the price of LPG cooking gas has been kept unchanged at Rs 2,060 per cylinder. NOC said the adjustment was based on the latest purchase prices from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and noted that despite the increase, it still expects to incur a fortnightly loss of around Rs 1.49 billion.
