The benchmark NEPSE index showed signs of consolidation, bouncing back slightly with a marginal 1.63-point (0.06%) gain to close at 2,702.11, successfully defending the psychological 2,700 level. After experiencing a 5.06-point dip the previous day, the market opened at 2,711.47 and entered a volatile tug-of-war between bulls and bears. The index hit an intraday high of 2,712.45 before selling pressure dragged it to a low of 2,691.86, showing that investors are moving cautiously amid corporate and regulatory shifts. Meanwhile, sector-wise performance was led by the Trading Index with a 0.75% gain, while the Mutual Fund sector lagged behind, slipping 0.49%.
