Himalaya Airlines Launches First Direct Scheduled Flights Between Kathmandu and Shenzhen

Himalaya Airlines has announced the commencement of direct scheduled flights between Kathmandu and Shenzhen, China, starting June 4. The airline said it will be the first commercial carrier to operate regular direct services on the Kathmandu–Shenzhen–Kathmandu route, creating a new air link between Nepal and one of China’s most prominent economic and technology centers. The airline stated that the new route is expected to enhance tourism, trade and business exchanges between Nepal and China, particularly during Nepal’s off-peak tourism season. Initially, two flights will operate each week, with departures from Kathmandu on Tuesdays and Thursdays and return services from Shenzhen on Wednesdays and Fridays. Himalaya Airlines Vice-President Vijay Shrestha said the initiative reflects the carrier’s commitment to strengthening bilateral connectivity while offering reliable travel services. Tickets are available through the airline’s ticket offices, authorized travel agencies, official website and mobile application.
