NEPSE Extends Losses, Drops 4.82 Points to Close at 2,598.89
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 4.82 points on Wednesday, extending its losing streak for a second consecutive session. Total turnover stood at Rs. 4.76 arba, with Ghalemdi Hydro leading the turnover chart.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its downward trend on Wednesday, Ashoj 14, shedding 4.82 points or 0.18% to close at 2,598.89. The decline follows a loss of 9.62 points in the previous trading session. The benchmark index opened at 2,598.20 and fluctuated between an intraday high of 2,606.94 and a low of 2,588.96 before settling at the closing level. The market recorded a total turnover of Rs. 4.76 arba, with 12,655,374 shares traded across 352 companies through 47,900 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 44.70 kharba, while the float market capitalization amounted to Rs. 15.14 kharba. Ghalemdi Hydro Limited (GHL) topped the turnover chart, recording transactions worth Rs. 39.48 crore. The company's share price closed at Rs. 271.50. Meanwhile, Sindhu Bikash Bank Limited (SINDU) emerged as the top gainer of the day, with its share price rising by 14.37% to close at Rs. 444.90. On the other hand, Sanima Growth Fund (SAGF) recorded the highest decline, falling by 3.78% to close at Rs. 9.41. Among the sectoral indices, the Trading Index recorded the highest gain, advancing by 1.18%. In contrast, the Hotels and Tourism Index suffered the biggest loss, declining by 0.54%.
