    NEPSE Drops Nearly 1% as Benchmark Index Falls 26.29 Points

    The benchmark index extended its losses amid broad-based selling, while daily turnover stood at Rs 3.55 billion.

    NEPSE Drops Nearly 1% as Benchmark Index Falls 26.29 Points

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 26.29 points (0.99%) on Monday, closing at 2,627.11, extending the previous session's loss of 8.30 points. The benchmark index opened at 2,658.64, reached an intraday high of 2,661.46, and slipped to a low of 2,623.25 before ending the session lower. Daily turnover totaled Rs 3.55 billion, with 7.54 million shares of 356 listed companies traded through 46,246 transactions. The market's total capitalization stood at Rs 45.13 trillion, while the float market capitalization reached Rs 15.22 trillion. Among individual securities, 8.5% Nepal Investment Bank Debenture 2084 (NIBD84) led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs 539.4 million, closing at Rs 1,109.90. Snow Rivers Limited (SNORL) and Sanigad Hydro Limited (SGHL) were the day's top gainers, both hitting the 15% positive circuit, while Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) posted the steepest decline, falling 13.79% to close at Rs 394.00. Sector-wise, the Trading Index recorded the largest drop of 3.15%, whereas the Development Bank Index registered the smallest decline, slipping 0.30%.
