The daily foreign exchange brief issued by Nepal Rastra Bank reflects a steady position for major global currencies against the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). The benchmark US Dollar maintains a stable corridor with a selling rate fixed at Rs. 155.22, while European currencies show notable strength, with the Euro crossing the Rs. 180 threshold and the UK Pound Sterling trading well above Rs. 207. In the regional segment, the peg with the Indian Rupee remains unchanged at the institutional rate of Rs. 160.15 for selling. For remittance-backed corridors, Gulf currencies like the Qatari Riyal and UAE Dirham hold their positions at Rs. 42.58 and Rs. 42.26 respectively. NRB reminds institutional market participants that while these rates serve as the official daily benchmark, live commercial bank counters retain the flexibility to adjust retail transaction spreads based on immediate liquidity and market forces.
