Flood Damages 10 MW Sipring Khola Hydropower Project, Power Generation Suspended
Floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall have damaged the 10 MW Sipring Khola Hydropower Project, forcing a temporary suspension of electricity generation.
The 10 MW Sipring Khola Hydropower Project has sustained damage after floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall hit the project site on the evening of Shrawan 5. According to the project, the floodwaters flowing from upstream damaged several machines and parts of its infrastructure. Following the damage, electricity generation at the project has been suspended until further notice. The project, promoted and operated by Synergy Power Development Limited, is currently assessing the extent of the damage and is expected to resume operations after necessary repairs and safety evaluations are completed.
