Tuesday, October 27, is the last day for shareholders to secure dividends of Manjushree Finance Limited (MFIL) and Barun Hydropower Limited (BARUN). Both companies will close their books on October 28 for dividend distribution and AGM purposes. Accordingly, investors who hold shares of these companies as of today will be eligible to receive the announced dividends and participate in their respective AGMs. Manjushree Finance has scheduled its 19th AGM for Friday, November 6, at 11:00 AM at Thapagaun Banquet, Thapagaun, New Baneshwor. The meeting will approve a proposal to distribute a 5% bonus share dividend and a 15% cash dividend, including the amount required for tax purposes. The AGM will also consider issuing non-redeemable, non-cumulative preference shares worth Rs. 400 million carrying an 8.75% dividend rate, authorizing the board to amend the company's Memorandum and Articles of Association, and appointing an auditor, among other proposals. Similarly, Barun Hydropower will hold its 23rd AGM on Friday, November 6, at 9:30 AM at Smart Darbar, Shankh Park, Kathmandu. The meeting will consider distributing a 4.75% bonus share dividend and a 0.25% cash dividend for tax purposes. Other key agendas include issuing 100% right shares based on the paid-up capital after the bonus share distribution, electing four directors—three representing promoter shareholders and one representing public shareholders—authorizing amendments to the company's Memorandum and Articles of Association, and appointing an auditor.
