Prime Minister Balendra Shah has said that disaster management efforts have been continuing through coordination among the federal, provincial, and local governments since Bhadra 10. Addressing the 21st meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, Shah said the government remains fully engaged in disaster response without compromising its efforts. With the chief ministers of Gandaki, Bagmati, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces also attending the meeting, the prime minister assured them that available resources and human resources would be mobilized to complete disaster management activities as soon as possible. He said the government is also assessing and addressing the damage caused by floods and landslides in areas including Bhotekoshi-Trishuli and Gandaki. Shah further highlighted efforts to strengthen the early warning system for disaster risk reduction and measures to minimize risks associated with avalanches. He also expressed gratitude to civil servants, security personnel, volunteers, political party representatives, and others who have continued working on the ground while putting their own lives at risk during disaster response operations.
