PM Balen Meets Energy Leaders to Address Sector Challenges

Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) is holding a high-level meeting with leaders of Nepal's energy sector today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar to discuss key challenges and possible solutions facing the industry. The meeting is attended by senior representatives of the Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN), including President Mohan Dangi, Immediate Past President Ganesh Karki, and Senior Vice President Uttam Lama. Discussions are expected to focus on policy reforms, private investment, electricity generation, power transmission infrastructure, and issues raised by independent power producers. The meeting is the latest in a series of consultations the Prime Minister has held with the business community in recent days. Earlier this week, he met with leaders of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) to discuss the broader economy, followed by talks with construction entrepreneurs on infrastructure-related concerns. The continued dialogue reflects the government's effort to engage directly with key private sector stakeholders and address challenges affecting Nepal's economic growth and investment climate.
