Rastriya Banijya Bank to Launch NepalPay Cards: Strengthening Domestic Digital Payments!

Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited (RBB) and Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) have officially entered into an agreement to implement NepalPay Card services under the National Payment Switch (NPS) system. The memorandum of understanding was signed at the bank’s central office by the CEOs of both institutions. With this partnership, RBB has achieved the status of a principal member of the National Card Switch and the NepalPay Card scheme, marking a significant step toward self-reliance in the country's digital payment infrastructure. Following this development, millions of RBB customers across its extensive nationwide branch network will soon have access to domestic NepalPay cards. The initiative is designed to offer a cost-effective and secure local alternative to international card schemes, aligning with the government's goal of promoting a cashless economy. RBB expects that the introduction of these cards will significantly strengthen modern banking access, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where the bank maintains a dominant presence.
