The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has suspended Beni Securities Pvt. Ltd. (Broker No. 93) for three working days after the brokerage firm failed to complete settlement and clearing procedures within the prescribed timeframe.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has suspended Beni Securities Pvt. Ltd. (Broker No. 93), halting its share trading operations for three working days effective Wednesday, Bhadra 3, citing delays in completing the required settlement and clearing process within the stipulated deadline. The action was taken following a recommendation from CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC), which reported that Beni Securities had failed to complete the settlement and clearing of securities within the prescribed timeframe. Based on the recommendation, NEPSE’s Supervision Department issued a notice on Wednesday confirming the suspension. The brokerage firm has been suspended for three working days in accordance with Regulation 22(1)(chha) of the Securities Trading Operation Regulations, 2075. During the suspension period, investors will not be able to buy or sell shares through Beni Securities. NEPSE has also notified the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), CDSC, and other concerned departments about the decision. Timely settlement of funds and securities is a crucial part of the stock market’s trading cycle, and delays by brokerage firms can disrupt the overall settlement mechanism. The suspension reflects the regulator’s move to enforce compliance and ensure timely completion of post-trade settlement obligations.
