Dashain Tika Auspicious Time Set for 10:26 AM on Kartik 4
The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Development Committee has announced the auspicious timings for major Dashain rituals, with the best time for receiving Tika set for 10:26 AM on Kartik 4, Tuesday.
The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Development Committee has announced the auspicious timings for the major religious and cultural rituals of Bada Dashain this year. According to the committee, the most auspicious time for receiving Dashain Tika has been fixed at 10:26 AM on Kartik 4, Tuesday, the day of Vijaya Dashami. This year, Navaratri and Ghatasthapana will begin on Ashwin 25, Sunday, with the auspicious time for Ghatasthapana set for 11:47 AM. On this day, devotees traditionally establish lamps, kalash and Lord Ganesha and sow Jamara at homes and temples following Vedic rituals. Similarly, the auspicious time for bringing Phulpati into homes and temples has been set for 7:37 AM on Ashwin 31, Saturday. Maha Ashtami will be observed on Kartik 1, Sunday, with an auspicious time of 10:39 AM, while Mahanavami will be celebrated on Kartik 3, Tuesday. Vijaya Dashami and Devi Visarjan will fall on Kartik 4, Tuesday. After the deity immersion, devotees seeking the most auspicious time to receive the red Tika and yellow Jamara as blessings from elders are advised to do so at 10:26 AM. The committee has also stated that, according to traditional practices, the person receiving Tika should sit facing west. Although there is no restriction on receiving Dashain Tika throughout the day, the 10:26 AM timing has been designated specifically for those who wish to follow the auspicious Muhurat. With the announcement of the Dashain timings, preparations and festive activities are gaining momentum across the country. Bada Dashain is celebrated as a major festival of family reunion, harmony, respect for elders and worship of divine power.
