Global IME Bank Launches Nepal's First Nagarik App-Based Account Opening
Global IME Bank has introduced Nepal's first bank account opening service integrated with the Nagarik App, allowing eligible users to open a personal savings account online using their National Identity Card details, making the process faster, simpler, and more secure.
Global IME Bank Limited has launched a new digital banking service in collaboration with the Nagarik App, allowing eligible citizens to open a personal savings account online using their National Identity Card details. The service, introduced for the first time in Nepal, enables Nagarik App users aged 18 years and above to initiate the account opening process by scanning a QR code available on the bank's website. After obtaining the QR code through the designated link in the Nagarik App, users can securely share their verified personal information with the bank after providing their consent, eliminating the need to manually enter personal details. According to the bank, the integration with the government's digital identity infrastructure enhances customer privacy, data security, and convenience while making the account opening process faster and more transparent. To activate the account for full banking services, customers must either visit their nearest Global IME Bank branch or complete identity verification through Video KYC. The bank said the new facility reflects its commitment to expanding secure, simple, and technology-driven digital banking services while delivering a more modern and customer-friendly banking experience.
