Gold Hits Rs 294,800; Silver Falls to Rs 5,040
Gold prices surged by Rs 800 to reach a near-record Rs 294,800 per tola, while silver bucked the upward trend, dipping by Rs 20 to settle at Rs 5,040 per tola in the local Nepali market.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the price of fine gold appreciated by Rs 800 per tola today, bringing the trading rate to Rs 294,800. This rally follows yesterday's sharp market correction where gold had settled at Rs 294,000 per tola. In contrast to gold's upward momentum, the silver market experienced a minor retraction. The price of silver dropped by Rs 20 per tola, falling from yesterday's closing rate of Rs 5,060 to trade at Rs 5,040 today. Market analysts attribute these diverging trends to fluctuating international commodity prices, geopolitical cues, and shifting investor demand between precious metals.
