IME Group’s Jalpadevi Cable Car project in Kailali is nearing completion, with official operations expected to commence within two months to enhance regional tourism infrastructure.
Jalpadevi Cable Car project, currently under construction by the IME Group in Kailali, is gearing up for official operations within the next two months. This 3.1-kilometer-long cable car system, connecting Chisapani to Rajkanda, is envisioned as a major catalyst for tourism development in the Sudurpashchim region. Following their success with the Chandragiri Cable Car in Kathmandu, the IME Group has prioritized this project with a focus on comprehensive tourism infrastructure. Beyond the transit system, the development includes integrated facilities such as hotels, resorts, a skywalk, temples, and parks at both the bottom and top stations. IME Group Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal stated that the project is designed to establish the region as a premier tourist destination, which will ultimately contribute to the broader economic and social development of the province. With final preparations currently underway, the group is on track to inaugurate the service for commercial operations within the stipulated two-month timeframe.
