In a significant move toward digital inclusion, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited has launched a UnionPay International QR payment service. Through a strategic collaboration with UnionPay and Fonepay, international travelers—particularly those from China—can now scan Fonepay QRs at Mahalaxmi’s merchant locations to make direct payments. This initiative aims to bolster Nepal’s digital ecosystem and tourism by providing a secure, cash-free transaction experience.
Furthering its "Digital Promotion Year 2083" campaign, the bank is also incentivizing its 850,000+ customers with a lucky draw for a travel package. With 103 branches across Nepal, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank continues to modernize its infrastructure, focusing on cross-border interoperability and innovative retail banking solutions to enhance user convenience.
