Massive Foreign Job Scam Busted: Five Arrested for Swindling Millions with False Promises of Overseas Employment
Nepal Police have arrested five individuals for allegedly defrauding job seekers of millions of rupees by promising lucrative employment opportunities in countries like the USA, Japan, and South Korea.

The police have arrested five individuals on charges of defrauding multiple people by promising them high-paying jobs in various foreign countries. The suspects were apprehended by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office following complaints from victims who claimed the individuals disappeared after collecting large sums of money.
According to the police, the arrested individuals include 32-year-old Raj Kumar Tamang, 31-year-old Prakash KC, 33-year-old Dilliman Tamang, 47-year-old Shrihang Ektin, and 28-year-old Namuna Bhandari. The investigation revealed that Prakash KC allegedly swindled the largest amount, collecting Rs 9.3 million from 12 victims by promising them passage to the United States. Other suspects reportedly took amounts ranging from Rs 550,000 to over Rs 1.4 million with false promises of jobs in Japan, South Korea, and Macau.
The arrests were made across various locations in Kathmandu and Lalitpur on Tuesday and Wednesday. All five suspects have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
