The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a mild round of profit-booking during Tuesday's trading session, forcing the benchmark index down by 9.24 points to rest at 2,777.10. This correction effectively wiped out a portion of yesterday's impressive 27.85-point gain, indicating short-term resistance near the 2,790 zone. Total market liquidity remained robust, registering a turnover of Rs 4.85 billion as 11.87 million shares changed hands across 52,751 individual transactions. Sectoral dynamics presented a mixed bag; the Non-Life Insurance sector emerged as the day's top performer with a modest 0.35% increase, while the Investment sector faced the heaviest selling pressure, sliding by 0.69%. In terms of individual corporate performance, energy stocks heavily dictated the day's narrative. Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company Ltd (AKJCL) emerged as the liquidity leader, drawing in a massive Rs 46.72 crores in turnover to close at Rs 422.90. On the shifting ends of price volatility, Kalinchowk Hydropower Limited (KHPL) rallied by 9.01% to become the day's top gainer, while Super Khudi Hydropower Limited (SKHL) experienced the sharpest decline, losing 3.60% to settle at Rs 992.00 per share.
