NEPSE Index and Turnover Witness Downward Trend on First Trading Day
The NEPSE index closed in the red this Monday, dropping over 13 points as market turnover also saw a significant decline compared to the previous session.
After a brief gain during the previous trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) faced a correction on Monday, the first trading day of the week. The benchmark index shed 13.17 points, closing at 2,825.23 points. Other key indicators followed suit, with the Sensitive Index falling by 3.21 points and the Float Index dropping by 1.19 points.
The market also saw a contraction in liquidity. Turnover fell to Rs 5.43 billion, down from Friday's Rs 7.46 billion. A total of 11,653,000 shares changed hands through 116,310 transactions involving 349 different stocks.
