NTC’s Growth Engine: Net Profit Surges to Rs 6.27 Billion in Q3
Nepal Telecom reports a 9.85% increase in net profit for the third quarter of FY 2082/83, driven by a surge in GSM revenue and reduced depreciation expenses.
Nepal Telecom has demonstrated significant financial improvement in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2082/83, recording a net profit of Rs 6.27 billion. This represents an increase of 9.85 percent—or approximately Rs 562.4 million—compared to the Rs 5.71 billion earned during the same period in the previous fiscal year. The company's total operating income rose by 2.42 percent to reach Rs 25.92 billion, while total income saw a 1.49 percent growth, totaling Rs 28.85 billion. The company attributed this positive trajectory primarily to a 2.76 percent increase in revenue from GSM services and an 8.46 percent reduction in depreciation expenses. Despite a 20.57 percent decline in interest income due to falling market rates, the company's overall efficiency improved, with profit before tax, interest, and depreciation rising to Rs 14.38 billion. Consequently, the annualized earnings per share (EPS) improved from Rs 42.3 to Rs 46.47.
