Panchakanya Mai Restores Upper Mai Hydro Plant After Month-Long Shutdown
Shares of Panchakanya Mai Hydropower (PMHPL) receive a fundamental boost as its primary 9.98 MW project returns to full operational capacity following successful system repairs.

Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Limited has officially resumed electricity generation from its 9.98 MW Upper Mai Hydropower Project after completing necessary repair and maintenance works. Power production at the plant had been entirely halted since April 20, 2026 (Baisakh 7, 2083 BS), following an unexpected burst at the manhole near the project's tunnel outlet, which disrupted the operational system. According to an official statement from the company, the damaged section was thoroughly repaired and underwent rigorous safety testing before electricity generation successfully went online again at 10:00 AM on May 21, 2026 (Jestha 7, 2083 BS). Management has confirmed that the project is now functioning under completely normal operating conditions.
