Supreme Court Rejects Filing for Rabi Lamichhane’s Parliamentary Suspension
The Supreme Court refused to register a writ petition seeking the suspension of RSP President Rabi Lamichhane over an ongoing money laundering case.
The Supreme Court administration has rejected a writ petition filed by advocate Ayush Badal and others, which sought the automatic suspension of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane from his role as a Member of Parliament. The petitioners argued that Lamichhane’s involvement in a current money laundering investigation warranted his immediate suspension. However, Supreme Court spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala confirmed that the court administration declined to register the petition, effectively turning down the request to initiate a formal legal challenge regarding his parliamentary status at this time.
