Trading Suspended! NEPSE Shuts Doors as Nepal Celebrates Buddha Jayanti and Labour Day
The Nepal Stock Exchange will remain closed today in observance of Buddha Jayanti and International Labour Day. Normal trading operations are scheduled to resume on Monday.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) is closed today, Friday, Baishakh 18, following the government's declaration of a public holiday. The holiday marks the dual celebration of Buddha Jayanti and International Labour Day. Consequently, all share market activities are paused, and regular trading is scheduled to restart on Monday, Baishakh 21, at 11:00 AM. Buddha Jayanti is a significant day for Buddhists, celebrating the birth, enlightenment, and death of Lord Buddha through prayer and reflection. Meanwhile, International Labour Day honors the global labor movement and the achievements of workers in securing rights and better working conditions.
