    NEPSE Edges Up 0.79 Points as Market Remains Nearly Flat

    Nepal’s stock market ended marginally higher on Tuesday, with the NEPSE index gaining 0.79 points to 2,641.85 amid moderate trading activity.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) edged up 0.79 points (0.03%) on Tuesday to close at 2,641.85, recovering slightly after a 9.02-point decline in the previous session. The benchmark index opened at 2,629.79 and moved between an intraday high of 2,656.21 and a low of 2,629.76 before settling at the closing level. Total turnover stood at Rs. 4.11 billion, with 9,534,221 shares traded across 340 companies through 52,073 transactions. The total market capitalization reached Rs. 45.40 trillion, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 15.32 trillion. Solu Hydropower Limited (SOHL) led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs. 44.87 crore, closing at Rs. 695.00 per share. Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company Limited (ULHC) recorded the highest gain, surging 14.99% to hit the upper circuit and close at Rs. 436.60. On the losing side, Mahila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBSL) posted the steepest decline, falling 14.91% to Rs. 1,370.00. Among sectoral indices, the Hotels and Tourism Index posted the highest gain of 0.50%, while the Trading Index recorded the largest decline, falling 0.77%. Overall, the market remained largely stable, with the benchmark index showing only a marginal recovery despite mixed sectoral performance.
