Currency Watch: Nepal Rastra Bank Fixes Today's Exchange Rates as US Dollar Ticks to NPR 151.22
Nepal Rastra Bank has unveiled Sunday's official foreign exchange rates, positioning the US Dollar selling rate at NPR 151.22, the Euro at NPR 173.34, and the UK Pound Sterling at NPR 200.13.
The foreign exchange market in Nepal commenced Sunday's trading session with the greenback holding a firm position, as Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) pinned the official selling rate for one US Dollar at NPR 151.22. Other major global currencies showed steady movement; the European Euro is trading with a selling rate of NPR 173.34, while the UK Pound Sterling crossed the 200-rupee mark to trade at a selling rate of NPR 200.13. Meanwhile, regional trade reference points like the Indian Rupee remain tightly pegged at the traditional rate of NPR 160.15 for selling. Financial analysts note that while these central bank metrics serve as the official benchmark, commercial retail banks maintain independent spreads, allowing minor fluctuations across individual banking counters based on real-time liquidity demand.
