UML Reorganization Report Reaches Oli Amid Leadership Debate

A task force formed by the CPN-UML to review election performance and recommend party reorganization has submitted its draft report to party Chairman KP Sharma Oli for review before its formal endorsement, raising concerns among some party leaders about possible changes to its recommendations. Led by Vice-Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ and drafted by General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, the report is based on suggestions collected from all seven provinces and focuses on strengthening the party’s organizational structure. According to party sources, the report includes recommendations on improving leadership style, internal coordination, and organizational reform, while some leaders have called for broader leadership changes. The delay in finalizing the report has fueled speculation over its contents, as discussions continue within the UML over the party’s future direction and leadership ahead of its organizational restructuring.
