Bitcoin Surges Past $80,000 as ETF Inflows and Risk Appetite Strengthen Rally

Bitcoin has climbed above the $80,000 mark as fresh inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs and improving investor risk appetite provide further momentum to the cryptocurrency rally.

Bitcoin Surges Past $80,000 as ETF Inflows and Risk Appetite Strengthen Rally

Bitcoin has climbed above $80,000, rising more than 2% to around $80,501, as renewed institutional demand and improving investor risk appetite strengthen the latest rally. The cryptocurrency gained more than 20% in just three days last week, driven partly by a major short squeeze that liquidated over $4 billion in bearish positions. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.92 billion in net inflows last week, their strongest weekly inflow since October 2025. Lower bond yields following the U.S. Treasury’s increased purchases of longer-term bonds have also encouraged demand for riskier assets, while concerns over inflation and rising government debt have supported interest in Bitcoin’s limited supply. Ether and XRP also advanced, with XRP gaining nearly 50% over the past week. Fundstrat believes strong ETF inflows, higher trading activity and growing options-market demand could make Bitcoin’s latest rally more sustainable, while renewed purchases by Strategy could provide another boost.
