NEPSE Falls 8.30 Points Despite Rs. 4.41 Billion Turnover
The benchmark index declined by 8.30 points as banking stocks weighed on the market, while daily turnover exceeded Rs. 4.41 billion.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 8.30 points (0.31%) on Thursday, closing at 2,653.40, after gaining 8.78 points in the previous session. The benchmark index fluctuated between an intraday high of 2,673.14 and a low of 2,646.78 before ending the day in negative territory. Daily turnover reached Rs. 4.41 billion, with 8.58 million shares of 345 listed companies traded through 46,234 transactions. Among individual securities, 4% Agricultural Bond (ADBLB) recorded the highest turnover at Rs. 43 crore. Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company Limited (ULHC) and Snow Rivers Limited (SNORL) emerged as the top gainers, each hitting a 15% positive circuit. However, ULHC also registered the day's steepest decline of 13.65%, closing at Rs. 429. Sector-wise, the Finance Index posted the highest gain of 1.06%, while the Banking Sub-Index recorded the biggest loss, declining by 0.96%.
