Nepal Airlines Soars: Revenue Hits NPR 14.69 Billion in 10 Months as International Flights Stabilize
Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) recorded a significant 24.91% increase in revenue, reaching NPR 14.69 billion during the first ten months of the current fiscal year. This financial boost is driven by an increase in passenger numbers, smooth operational management, and highly lucrative international routes, with Tokyo's Narita sector leading the growth.
The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has generated NPR 14.69 billion in revenue from passenger ticketing and cargo services during the first ten months (Shrawan to Baishakh) of the current fiscal year 2082/83. This marks an impressive 24.91% growth compared to the same period last fiscal year, which stood at NPR 11.76 billion. The airline's passenger volume also saw a substantial rise, flying 536,011 passengers—an increase of approximately 87,000 travelers compared to the 449,000 recorded in the previous year's review period. According to corporation officials, this financial turnaround is primarily credited to the uninterrupted operation of all four aircraft in its international fleet, the absence of major technical groundings, and overall improvements in flight management. Geographically, the Kathmandu-Narita (Japan) sector emerged as the most profitable route for the carrier, generating NPR 4.83 billion by flying over 63,000 passengers. Additionally, routes to Doha, Dubai, and Delhi contributed significantly to the revenue stream. Building on this momentum, NAC spokesperson Devendra Pun stated that the corporation has laid out a strategic roadmap to further expand its passenger base and commercial operations in the upcoming fiscal year.
