Gold and Silver Prices Document Minor Intra-Week Decline in the Nepali Market

Precious metals in Nepal recorded a marginal drop on Thursday, with gold dipping by NPR 100 per tola and silver sliding by NPR 35 per tola, offering a brief breather after recent market highs.

Gold and Silver Prices Document Minor Intra-Week Decline in the Nepali Market

The domestic bullion market in Nepal experienced a minor correction on Thursday, Ashar 4, as prices for both gold and silver edged lower following a steady trading streak. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold traded at NPR 297,200 per tola, marking a slight dip of NPR 100 compared to Wednesday's closing rate of NPR 297,300. Market analysts view this minimal fluctuation as a standard intra-week adjustment, heavily influenced by minor shifts in international trading centers and global currency strengths. Mirroring the yellow metal's downward movement, silver prices also took a hit during Thursday's trading session. The industrial metal plummeted by NPR 35 per tola, bringing the market price down to NPR 4,945 per tola from Wednesday's benchmark of NPR 4,980. While the marginal decrease has brought minor relief to retail buyers, overall demand remains closely tied to international macroeconomic indicators, leaving jewelers and investors highly attentive to upcoming global market cues.
