NRB Board to Remain Seven-Member Body with Mandatory Female Representation
The House of Representatives' Finance Committee has agreed to retain the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Board as a seven-member body, with mandatory representation of at least one woman.
The House of Representatives' Finance Committee has reached an agreement to retain the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Board of Directors as a seven-member body, including at least one female member. The decision was made during Tuesday’s clause-by-clause discussion on the bill to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2002. The committee rejected the proposed expansion of the board to nine members and instead agreed to maintain the existing seven-member structure while ensuring mandatory female representation.
