NMB Bank Lists Rs. 3 Arba Preference Shares Under Symbol 'NMBPNP'!

NMB Bank Limited has officially listed 30 million units of its 8.25% Perpetual Non-Cumulative Preference Shares (NMBPNP) on the Nepal Stock Exchange. While secondary market trading kicks off on Jestha 20, the bank has restricted all trading activities exclusively to institutional investors, completely barring the general public and standard market intermediaries.

NMB Bank Lists Rs. 3 Arba Preference Shares Under Symbol 'NMBPNP'!

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) welcomed a major listing on Jestha 19, as NMB Bank Limited floated 30 million units of its “NMB Perpetual Non Cumulative Preference Share - 2081/82-8.25%” under the trading symbol 'NMBPNP'. The massive issue commands a total paid-up value of Rs. 3 billion, backed by a fixed face value of Rs. 100 per share. Secondary market trading for these newly listed shares is scheduled to commence on Jestha 20. However, in a critical regulatory note, NMB Bank clarified that these specific perpetual non-cumulative preference shares will not operate like typical public stocks. Trading is strictly limited to institutional investors. The general public, individual retail investors, and even licensed securities intermediaries—including stockbrokers, dealers, merchant bankers, and mutual funds—are explicitly restricted from buying or selling these shares in the secondary market.
