Flydubai Approved for Daily Direct Flights to Pokhara Starting September

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has formally cleared Flydubai’s daily flight schedule for the Pokhara-Dubai route, directly targeting an unlocking of the regional economy starting September 23. The entry of the premium low-cost carrier is viewed by economic analysts as a critical development for protecting the estimated Rs 100 billion in private hospitality and tourism investments currently anchored in Pokhara. Prior to securing clearance, Flydubai dispatched a specialized technical team to audit the airport’s infrastructure, safety systems, and operational parameters against international benchmarks. Local business leaders and Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhana Raj Acharya anticipate that plugging into Flydubai’s network of over 300 global destinations will finally commercialize the Rs 22 billion international airport asset, while simultaneously offering a structural solution to the chronic traffic congestion stifling Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport.
