NEPSE Opens FY 2083/84 with 79.74-Point Rally, Turnover Reaches Rs. 4.57 Billion

The benchmark NEPSE index surged 3.06% on the first trading day of the new fiscal year, driven by broad-based buying and strong investor sentiment.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) kicked off fiscal year 2083/84 on a strong note, climbing 79.74 points, or 3.06%, to close at 2,677.54 on Friday after gaining 7.50 points in the previous session. The benchmark index opened at 2,599.43, touched an intraday high of 2,677.64, and hit a low of 2,598.24 before closing near the day's peak. Market turnover stood at Rs. 4.57 billion, with more than 10.38 million shares of 335 listed companies traded through 58,094 transactions. Total market capitalization reached Rs. 46 trillion, while float market capitalization stood at Rs. 15.54 trillion. Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company Ltd. (AKJCL) emerged as the top turnover company with transactions worth Rs. 222.3 million, closing at Rs. 363 per share. Shreenagar Agritech Industries Limited (SAIL) was the day's biggest gainer, rising 15% to Rs. 963.70, while Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ANLB) posted the steepest decline, falling 15% to Rs. 6,120. Among sectoral indices, Manufacturing and Processing led the gains with a 4.60% rise, whereas the Mutual Fund sub-index was the only sector in the red, slipping 0.29%.
